Story
Story was the second chi-weenie that I adopted. I had her for almost two years before my circumstances changed and I needed to reduce the number of dogs in my home. I found Story a wonderful new home where she will be the center of attention, loved by a very cute little boy and his family.
I searched for two years for another chi-weenie to add to my household. I began to despair that I would never find one. I had discovered that there were many people with chi-weenies, but few who were willing to part with one. Finally, just as I had given up hope and decided I may need to concentrate on a chihuahua instead, I found Story.
She was being sold in the parking lot of a local business, along with her littermates. My family and I had been driving by when we saw the sign in the back of a truck that said "CHI-WEENIES". We turned around and pulled into the parking lot to see them. I walked over to the truck and saw that there were only two left. The girl who was selling them was holding Story. She was so squishy and cute! I knew that I had to have her.
After bringing Story home, I soon found that she was very sweet in disposition. She wanted to follow me everywhere I went. If I sat on the couch, she curled up in my lap. If I went into the kitchen, she trotted along behind me. She was slightly intimidated by my older chi-weenie, Pedro, at first. Soon, they warmed up to each other and were inseparable.
Story was intelligent, sweet, and mostly serious. Although she liked to play with the occasional stuffed squeaky toy, she much preferred to just hang out with a rawhide stick or bone. She was the easiest of my dogs to train, and enjoyed the occasional piece of cheese as a treat for her efforts.
Story had one litter of puppies with Pedro. She was a great mother, and produced beautiful babies. If my circumstances had not changed, I intended to breed her every so often in order to provide more people with access to such a wonderful breed of dog.
Pedro and I will miss Story, but I'm confident she's in a great home and will live out the rest of her life in happiness.
